as miel mentioned, we had big plans this week to escape our respective offices and meet at dorie greenspan's cookie bar, but alas, an escape was not in the cards for me on friday afternoon. so! miel (angel that she is) went ahead and grabbed some extra cookies for me, which we shared at home.
and dorie did not disappoint! we each had our favorite chocolate chip cookie, and shared a peanut butter, and a molassas spice cookie. these cookies were perfect - they had that homemade taste that is so often lost at a bakery...and they were the perfect size, so we could eat more than one.
our favorite chocolate chip was filled with such good quality chocolate. it was chewy and had a great brown sugary flavor (sweet but not grainy at all). the peanut butter cookie, with pieces of peanuts, was light and fluffier than the others. the molasses spice was the surprise winner of the group - chewy and sweet, I did not expect to love this as much as i did! i can't wait until dorie opens her permanent store front...
perfect way to kick off valentine's day weekend, which will hopefully be filled with many more sweet treats :o)
