Throwdown: Sticky Buns

After a recent trip to Boston, Miel was kind enough to bring home one of the treats she found along her way at Flour Bakery & Cafe, an adorable bakery featured on one of our favorite shows, Throwdown with Bobby Flay. (Spoiler Alert....
Flour Bakery and Cafe won!).

And when we tasted the sticky buns, we knew why!  They were chewy and sweet and, topped with the perfect amount of pecans, the carmel topping was divine.  So pliant and sweet...great cold, even better warmed up in the oven!  Despite a few outer layers which were a little dry and could have used a tad more cinnamon glaze, we could see how these sticky buns earned their Food Network fame.

*For a truly amazing sticky bun in New York, visit Ciao for Now, my favorite little cafe in the EV (they have two EV locations, and a West Village location).  Their maple pecan sticky buns are simply the best.  Even served cold - I have yet to try them warmed up! - the entire bun at Ciao for Now is perfection.  It's also a great place to sit and have coffee before the neighborhood moms show up with their toddlers in tow!
